“Take
care of your body, it's the only place you have to live.”
Working out
always has a positive effect on my mood
Hello
everyone! Excited to be part of this group and see everyone’s stories,
accomplishments and goals. ‘Tis that time of year to reflect on all the things
we’re grateful for in our lives, and it’s also the perfect season to express a
little gratitude to people who have contributed towards our success and
transformation. The more you focus on the positives, the easier it is to stick
with healthy habits that helps you look good and, more importantly, feel good!
For
months, I have allowed my “before” and “after” pics to speak for themselves. I
have looked at the purpose of my blog in a very different way. I used to see it
as a means to shout to the world, “Hey, Look at ME!” “Acknowledge ME!” and that’s
probably the biggest fundamental change I can say is a fact. This blog is more
about you and me. Being on this fitness journey is a never-ending affair for me
and I recognize that my lifestyle change has been evolving and changing and I
invite you to experience it with me.
If
there’s one thing I’ve learned throughout this whole process, it’s that you
shouldn’t limit yourself to one fitness goal. I firmly believe that the mind,
body and spirit are all interconnected and if you focus on only one part, it is
typically at the detriment of the other two. So I challenge you to make this
adventure a full health experience, knowing that the journey will never end and
the real purpose is to have as much fun as possible while you’re on it!
The famous poet Goethe is noted
for having said that "Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it"
over two centuries ago, and yet his description still rings true today. I want
to thank one amazing lady, Jane Mukami, a fitness guru, who has made this group
magically motivating. There's just something about Jane that makes all of us
come out and keep going whenever we want to quit. She has and continues to invest
a lot of time and energy into others.
Tell you what? Imagine that
feeling after you have exercised and being surrounded with positive people?
Absolutely magical! So for those of you who have accountable partners
and/or trainers, thank them for positively impacting on your life. Here’s to
one AMAZING lady for her continued
support that has made it possible for over 40,000 ladies to reach their fitness
goals. There is no greater feeling than feeling like a million bucks in your
own body. I feel so great! I have more work ahead and this is not the end of
it.
You know what? Goethe was
right. Boldness does have genius, power, and magic in it. And there's nothing
more bold and beautiful than having an outstanding group of women coming
together with a common purpose and goal.
Throughout
my fitness journey, I have been keeping a motivational journal which has
created consistency and a dedicated space for my practice.
The
sky’s the limit when it comes to physical activity and I’m not limiting myself
in any way! I again challenge you to do the same. Step out of your comfort zone
and challenge yourself, even if it turns out not to be your cup of tea, you’re
sure to have plenty of new and exciting stories to share with your family and
friends. Enrol in that boot camp you’ve been thinking about or sign-up for
those dance aerobic classes you’ve been eyeing or throw on your hiking boots,
think about it! Be the you that
you’ve always wanted. I’m a living proof that whatever you set your mind to is
possible.
No matter
where you are in your weight-loss and wellness journey, always remember that
you don’t truly know what you have until it’s gone. Don’t wait until you are
faced with a serious illness or injury to appreciate the amazing things your
body does for you on a daily basis. Get on it and work it
Happy holidays and God Bless!
